Announcing the Daytrip Cardigan

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the release of our newest pattern, the Daytrip Cardigan, another fabulous design by our very own Creative Director, Melissa Wehrle. The Daytrip Cardigan is the go anywhere, do anything cardigan. Whether you're going to work or going on vacation, the Daytrip Cardigan has you covered. Details include a nice scoop neck, turn up cuffs and easy mesh stitch body. It is suitable for many body types. The Daytrip Cardigan is our very first pattern for our newest yarn, Lanas Puras Clarissa. Lanas Puras Clarissa is a DK weight yarn in a merino/cotton blend that is wonderful to knit with and comes in twelve luscious colors. It is shown here in the granite colorway.

Melissa is an extremely talented designer who also designed Georgia, the Sapphire Wrap, the Starla cardigan and the Sunshine Tank for One Planet Yarn and Fiber. You can read all about her knitting adventures on her blog. Watch her blog carefully for the upcoming release of her beautiful Granny Smith 2 cardigan, knit in Lanas Puras Melosa, fingering weight in the eggplant colorway, one of our favorite colorways for this season.

Order the yarn to make the Daytrip Cardigan in the Lanas Puras Clarissa colorway of your choice and the pattern will be complimentary.

New Hand Painted Yarns - Luxury Fibers

We just put on the site some of the most gorgeous yarns I have ever personally seen. First, this luxurious hand dyed Italian Silk from Fleece Artist. This yarn is so incredibly beautiful, first because it is pure silk which takes dye very strongly and so the colors are very clear and bright. Second, it is an unusual fiber, it is a single ply and soft for silk. Really if you are a color and fiber fanatic, this yarn is for you. It is perfect for making any of the fingering weight shawls we have on our site, and we have many! Also it could be used for any sweater or light top calling for fingering weight yarn. I made a mosaic of the colors to easily show them for you.

Then for lace yarn lovers, this Fleece Artist Suri Blue yarn is absolutely yummy. It is spun from 50% soft soft suri alpaca and 50% blue faced leicester (BFL) BFL is as soft as merino but a bit more durable. This yarn is very reasonably priced for handpainted yarn and also the quantity! Each skein has about 647 yards. Here is the mosaic:

The colors are gorgeous!

We also just added quite a few Hand Maiden Sea Silk Colors and new shawl kits. In the next few weeks, quite a few Fleece Artist and Hand Maiden Kits will be added to the site.

What else is new?

We are taking pre-orders for a gorgeous new shawl kit from Knitspot.com called the Cluranach Shawl pattern. There is a petite (2 skein) and tall (3 skein) size done in Lanas Puras Melosa fingering weight in eggplant. If you are interested in this kit, please preorder because they are selling fast and it helps us know and plan how much yarn to order! Any one who preorders will get their kit first. Others may have to wait a bit longer after the pattern release.

We have several other new patterns releasing soon. A gorgeous cardigan design by Melissa Wehrle in Lanas Puras Clarissa is coming soon. And in early November, we will have a new knit kit in Black Pearl Yarns cashmere. The pattern is designed by Wendy Bernard of Knit and Tonic. Watch here for more details.
