New Pattern Designer - No Two Snowflakes

I love meeting talented people.  Meet Nicole Feller-Johnson.  Nicole designs her patterns under the name No Two Snowflakes.

No Two Snowflakes presents one-of-a-kind , handmade art for individuals. Each piece and product has its own unique story, and no two will ever be exactly the same! Commissioned work is also available- I am interested in what makes you an individual, and how you would choose to reflect that!

I am happy to say that I know carry her patterns in my shop.  Please enjoy these images and then check out the patterns on the OPYF No Two Snowflakes pattern page.

New Changes for the One Planet Clubs

Hi All,
I have been unable to have my web software process the monthly OPYF clubs.  So, I went through the clubs and I am offering only one month at a time as opposed  to multiple months.  This will make it easier to order for you and easier in accounting for me.

Also, the Superb Sock Club is changing.  This club is all about the yarn.  Each month a will include yarn from a different company.  One month may be Natural Dye Studio, another Fleece Artist or Hand Maiden, another month Artyarns, etc.   The yarns will be different blends each month and will have enough yardage to make a pair of socks or to use for some other project.  Spaces are limited so please make a space for yourself or a friend or family member as soon as possible.

Karen

Jacquard Acid Dyes Restocked Again

I've just restocked the .5 ounce bottles if Jacquard Acid dyes.  There are 40 colors available.  I love working with this product myself.  It is very easy to use and the only acid involved is white vinegar!  The pictures below are of fiber I have dyed with this product.

Binky Patrol Charity Knitting Organization

One of my fellow tweeters sent me this information.  The chapter in Ohio is in desperate need of blankets right now.  If you visit the website you can see that there are chapters all over the country.  I am hoping my OPYF group will help again with this charity, either for Ohio or your own backyard.

Artesano Yarns - Yummy

In September my daughter, Kaitlynn, found this bag in the Debbie Bliss magazine and asked me to knit it for her.  The reindeer reminded her of Canada; where she was born.  It was so fun to knit!  Time to be honest - it was supposed to be lined and a drawstring put through the top which, somehow, I never quite got around to doing....

Recently I was flipping through the Winter 2010 Knitters Magazine and found a fabulous design by Valerie Martinuson called Reindeer Games.  It is a great hooded bolero with fair isle reindeer and snowflakes on it.  So cute!

As it happens I was visiting Karen at One Planet Yarn and Fiber a few days later to check out the new yarns and the Artesano Aran caught my eye.  The original pattern was knitted out of a alpaca and wool blend, and the Artesano Aran was the right weight and fiber composition.  I took the navy blue and natural colors home and, of course, cast on immediately and began knitting.

I love this yarn.  It is incredibly soft and the alpaca gives it a wonderful halo with long fibers making it look soft and cushy.  Kaitlynn lives in Texas attending Angelo State University and the weather there actually gets cold.  I have had a number of calls in the morning from Kaitlynn walking to class apparently "freezing to death".  It has been so much fun knitting hats, mittens, scarves and sweaters that someone in the family will actually use!  This new sweater will have to wait to be worn until next year but I'm sure it will be warm and cozy.

Check out this yarn at OPYF!  In the meantime she found another pattern for me to knit - an intricate lace cover up in the latest Vogue magazine!  Oh, and she wants to wear it this year! Yeah, right!

Restocked madelinetosh!

madelinetosh goes out my door so quickly!  Then it takes time to get the next order in because all the yarns are hand painted.  But it is always worth the wait!  I've restocked some colors in pashmina and tosh merino light and I also added in several colors of tosh merino also.  Enjoy the color show below!
