Artesano Aran Yarns Are Filled In A Little More

I just love Alpaca.  I filled in the Artesano Aran Alpaca/Wool yarns.  Some of the regular colors have been filled in and I added some new ones.  There are a few more new colors coming too.  Here's what is new!

Thought You Might Like This-What I Found At The Farmer's Market This Past Saturday

This past weekend was the Walk for the Cure in Phoenix.  The walkers went through several cities in the metro area.  As the walkers went through Old Scottsdale there were hordes of spectators waiting for them.  Part of the festivities were a posse of cowboys on horseback.  Although I didn't see the riders I did catch some of the horses while they were waiting.

And of course, afterwards the cowboys had to eat, so they parked their companions in front of the Saddle Ranch Restaurant.

One Planet Yarn And Fiber Introduces Indie Dyer-Sharptalk Handcrafts!

I finally did it.  I moved all my hand painted roving and personally carded and hand dyed batts that were in my Etsy shop over to One Planet Yarn ans Fiber.  What a relief.  I thought I'd never get to it.

I loved learning to dye.  Each time is such an adventure.  I will be doing more of the future as time allows.  Several batts and roving have already sold, so I can't take too long to paint more.

Fiber Addicts Rejoice! More Handpainted Urban Gypz Roving In Stock

I so much have to apologize to Urban Gypz.  These absolutely gorgeous hand painted rovings have been here over a month, but I only just had a chance to photograph them and edit the pictures for the website.  The fibers used are fantastic.  As I took the pictures, I ignored the tags and guessed what the roving blends were.  There are 36 new rovings all together.  Happy spinning!

Thought You Might Like This - Farm Shares for Spinners and Knitters

I love to say that I am supporting 3 farm shares.  This past weekend I received my share box from Jacob's Reward Farm in Texas.  The box was filled with Alpaca, Jacob's Wool and a small bag of Angora.  Plus, this stunning reusable bag!


One of my other farm shares is at Fancy Fibers, also in Texas.  There is a great article, recently published in the Herald Banner about my friend, Mary Berry, who owns Fancy Fibers.

The third farm is Juniper Moon in Virginia.  Cormo!  Need I say more?

I f you plan on helping these CSA fiber farms, you better hurry.  Most of the 2011 shares are sold out already.  I know Mary has very few shares left and the other 2 have waiting lists.

OPYF Is Mentioned In A New Book!

My friend Mary suggested that I post about a new book.  It is called "Brave New Knits" by Julie Turjoman.  The book highlights 26 different pattern designers who also have blogs.  Several of the patterns available at One Planet Yarn and Fiber were created by these artist.  There are some wonderful patterns i the book and because some of these artists have used and designed patterns using our private label yarns, the book mentions us in it's pages.  Yes!

Mary also suggested that I contact Amazon and join with them to offer some of my favorite books for sale on this blog and my website.  Done!  Send me your ideas as to what other titles you might like to see listed for sale in the store.
