On April 21st I was invited to help out
The Fiber Factory teach knitting, crochet, weaving and spinning at the Arizona Ultimate Women's Expo. I wanted to share the photos from set up on Friday and the actual Expo for Saturday while we were demo-ing. There is a surprise at the bottom of this post, so make sure you scroll all the way down.

Yes, this is warped incorrectly. I had to come back over the beams. That's what happens when I take too long a break from weaving. |

On set up day I spotted a sign for a booth called Little Tiny Puppies. You know I don't pass up a chance for this kind of thing. In the middle of the afternoon on Saturday I was shooed out of the booth to take a walk and find the puppies. So adorable!

I spotted this sign way home from set up. I couldn't resist the picture. Glad I was stopped at a red light. |
On Friday morning, the day of set up, it was also judging day at the biennial
Fibers Through Time event. Fibers Through Time is sponsored by all the weaving and spinning guilds in the state of Arizona. It is four days of workshops and demos as well as a place to shop a little. I did pick up some small items for weaving, but more importantly, I entered the spun yarn competition because my friend Ruth from the
ADWSG urged me to compete. So, I went over to the far side of town and dropped off my 3 skeins to be judged before 9:30 in the morning. The judging wasn't over until after 1:00pm, so I hung around and looked at the exhibits, the vendor stalls and the raffle section for the morning. I did purchase some raffle tickets, but I didn't win anything there.
But, I did pick up a few winnings in the spinning competition. I came home with 2 first place ribbons and one second place ribbon. Not a bad day.
Happy Spinning!
Regards,
Karen
