Introducing Pretty as a Posy......and more!

We are excited to announce the release of our newest pattern, Pretty As a Posy designed by the talented Holli Yeoh of Bee's Knees Knits exclusively for our very own Lanas Puras Clarissa. Pretty As a Posy is an adorable coat dress for toddler girls, perfect over leggings or jeans. The coat dress was designed to be an easy knit requiring minimal shaping. The ribbing pulls in the bodice to create the effect of a semi-shaped armhole. The dress is shown in Lanas Puras Clarissa, a 50% cotton, 50% merino cotton comfort yarn which is a perfect year round weight for those who prefer a more breathable fabric. The coat dress is an advanced beginner pattern and is designed in 3 sizes ranging from 6 months to 4 years. It is a truly sweet heirloom quality knit piece, sure to be a hit on your little one or when given as a special gift!

Pretty As a Posy is available as a single leaf download pattern or as part of a complete knit kit which includes both the pattern download and Lanas Puras Clarissa in the Petal colorway as shown in the pattern photos. Knit this sweater dress for your favourite one-year-old and she’ll still be wearing it when she’s three. It will have stylish three-quarter length sleeves and a shorter skirt – but it still looks great!
We are also happy to tell you about our growing inventory of complete knit kits. You asked for the convenience of ordering some of our gorgeous patterns in your favorite yarns w/ just a few clicks of the mouse and here they are with plans for more kits to come! Fleece Artist Fiber, Farmhouse Yarns, Be Sweet, More

We wanted to tell you about some of the items we have just added to the site. Many colorful and beautiful new things for yarn and fiber lovers! Also see below for a brief description of what is coming soon to One Planet Yarn and Fiber.

We just added tons of gorgeous spinning fiber from Fleece Artist-we have new very large 250 gram (8.2 ounce) balls of hand painted BFL and merino silk. Also the 50 gram braids that we have been carrying for awhile and sell pretty quickly. There are many beautiful colors, here is just a few.

We have many new patterns from Be Sweet Yarns, both for the gorgeous magic balls as well as for their bamboo yarns. We will be adding more kits as well as the incredible Be Sweet knitting bags in the next week and in the next month we will be adding more magic balls as well as their new organic cotton/bamboo blend. This is an incredible yarn for spring and summer!

We added some absolutely beautiful and funky knitting bags from Two Stix. These are each hand made from recycled sweaters-each bag is one of a kind. We also have the Two Stix needle holders.

Are you familiar with Farmhouse Yarns? What a cool company. The yarn is all natural fibers and simply gorgeous-all hand painted and one of a kind skeins. The yarns are all from local sheep! We added the Fannie's Fingering weight yarn and we will be soon adding some of their hand painted cotton/spring yarns and lots of patterns. Make sure to take a look at the beautiful hand painted colors.

Coming soon.......

An incredible new line of sock yarn called "Feet First" from a really cool indie company based in Missouri. They also have a unique line of fun and hip spindles called technospindles. We can't wait for you to see them! We have a new shipment of lovely sock yarn from Marion's Sock Yarns yarns from Germany. We will be adding another really unique company from Wales, called Fyberspates, and introducing her luxury hand painted yarns, fibers and knit kits. Also watch for yarns and patterns from Kaalund Yarns and Peartree Yarns, both from Australia. We have beautiful patterns coming from several new Indie designers. May 9th- What's New This Week

We have another week of a lot of new items.... It can't continue like this forever, feeling like a holiday but for now it is quite a bit of fun to unpack boxes full of amazing yarns and other goodies.

First, we got a few skeins of yarn in from our favorite handspinner, Rachel Dow, of RMD designs. Her handspun yarns are amazing, just because of the colors and the care that goes into each skein. I have made a few drop stitch scarves from her yarns for gifts and people always oohed and ahhed because the colors are so amazing. Visit Rachel's section of our shop and really even a simple stitch pattern with her yarns makes an amazing scarf or shawl. You could knit up a shawl on really big needless and a loose stitch and have an amazing garment. Here is one of her skeins that came in tis week.

We received an entire shipment of Be Sweet products, which we could go on and on about. They have the most unusual yarns in the prettiest colors and they are a company with a great vision and philolophy. Please read about them on our site and take a look at the Magic Balls and patterns and kits! When I saw this sweater, I just fell in love and I have to make it for myself. We decided to put it into kit form, which we sell on our site! The magic balls and kits are already selling so soon we'll have to buy more magic balls and more kits ..

And what is a magic ball by the way? They are amazing little creations of different kinds of yarns, hand dyed and handspun by women in South Africa, full of different textures and colors. Several of the patterns call for only one magic ball.... Here is a "hot sundae" magic ball-the colors are delicious and one ball can make a tote bag or a little clutch. A few can make a scarf, shawl or sweater, so take a peak at all the Be Sweet Products.

Last but definitely not least, for spinners and aspiring spinners everywhere, how lucky are we to have our first shipment of hand turned spindles from Avi Wasserman in Israel. Avi is a very talented artisan and an interesting and nice person! His background is actually in engineering and he takes the production of each of spindles quite seriously. He uses amazing exotic woods and adds other unique features like inlay silver that you will not see anywhere on other spindles. As we went through them to photograph, we oohed and ahhed and I want every one! It is very very difficult these days to find spindles like this so we hope those of you who like to spin, will want to add these to your collection! We also have loads of new spinning fiber coming in the next few months so watch the spinning section. Here are examples of two of Avi Wasserman's spindles. The first is a beautiful dyed blue Queensland maple spindle that also uses ebony wood. The shaft is made from mahogany.

This second one is an example of Avi's new spindle designs that have the precious silver inlaid into them. These really are unusual and one of a kind works of art! We hope to be showing many of Avi's other designs in the future.

That is it for now..... except don't forget to join our mailing list for special private offers, etc. We typically send out a mailer once per month or every other month and never share your name or contact information.
