We Love Indie Designers!

It is part of our philosphy at One Planet Yarn and Fiber to support Indie fiber artists and designers. We are always on the lookout for new and creative products from around the globe to add to our store. We are happy to tell you about a new Indie designer we have just added to our store as well as to show you a few new patterns from some of the other Indie designers we represent.

Melanie Gibbons from Pink Lemon Twist is a talented designer who specialzes in lace stoles and socks. She has been knitting for over 10 years and designing her own creations since 2005. Melanie's patterns often include 2 or even 3 designs within a single pattern, offering options to both the adventurous beginner knitter as well as the more experienced knitter and the opportunity to make the pattern uniquely yours. Here are a couple of Melanie's gorgeous lace shawls. First, Scheherazade:

Next, Moon Dance:
The motifs and design elements in Melanie's patterns are created from historical tales and nature and it is a joy to read about her inspirations. You can read all about Melanie's knitting adventures on her blog. We are pleased to be able to offer you Pink Lemon Twist patterns on a download basis.

Anniken Ellis from Anni Design is a Norweigan Designer living in the UK. Anni has been knitting since childhood and in addition to designing, she has a passion for dyeing yarn. Anni also specializes in lacework and socks. Here is one of her newest sock patterns, Celtic Cable Heel Socks. Visit her on her blog Confessions of a Yarn Addict. Anni's patterns can be purchased as downloads at One Planet Yarn and Fiber.
We also have a new pattern designed by Kara Gott of igottknits. The Welcome Home Onesie is the first pattern in a brand new collection of irresistible onesies sure to be a perfect heirloom quality gift for a new baby. The onesie is sized from 0-12 months and has a touch of embroidery as an elegant accent. Check out the full line of igottknits patterns for both children and adults available on a download basis. Finally, we'd like you to check out some of new new patterns from Zephyr Style. Those Zephyr gals really have style and sure know how to take a classic look and add their own quirky sense of fun to their fashion creations. This one is called Tree Jacket and is a perfect sweater for the change in seasons.
We have so many other new patterns at the store we'd like to share with you, but too many to list here, so check out our "What's New Section" often! Watch for some new patterns by Melissa Wehrle of Neoknits, Shirley MacNulty, and oh so many more talented designers!
