New Project On My Rigid Heddle Loom

For some time I have been wanting to learn how to warp my loom using 2 heddles.  Last week I carried my loom in to The Fiber Factory and my friend Susan and I dutifully read the instructions in the Ashford Book Of Rigid Heddle Weaving and I as able to get the loom warped up with out too many problems.  The next step is to learn how to move the heddles up and down to create fabric.  Wish me luck!

Weekend Excursion- Something You Might Like

It is so darned hot here in the desert that my husband took pity on me and we drove north on Saturday night after we closed our pen shop for the day.  We headed up to the high desert where it is 20 degrees cooler than home.  Our mission was to go to the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert.  We were very fortunate Sunday morning as it was nice and cloudy.  The park was fully exposed to the sun, so the clouds were quite welcome.  It did, however, remove the sparkle from the petrified wood, but I am sharing the photos anyway. The sun came out as we headed north to the Painted Desert which really helped with those pictures.  We drove home down the Mogollon Rim in a rainstorm, but we made it home safe and sound.

Completed! Works In Progress Done

There are times like it seems nothing is near completion and then all of a sudden, like magic, they are finally finished.  Below are photos of my finished BFL/silk hankie yarn project that I spun on my Ashford Joy.  Next is the finally sewn together Noni Perfect Fit Laptop Sleeve.  I used Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd's Wool for this.  It was perfect.  It came out so nice I may just use it as a tote bag! And finally, my Sassy top from c2knits using Be Sweet Bambino yarn.  The Bambino is actually too heavy for this pattern.  Next time I will use Be Sweet Bamboo instead.
