It is so darned hot here in the desert that my husband took pity on me and we drove north on Saturday night after we closed our pen shop for the day. We headed up to the high desert where it is 20 degrees cooler than home. Our mission was to go to the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. We were very fortunate Sunday morning as it was nice and cloudy. The park was fully exposed to the sun, so the clouds were quite welcome. It did, however, remove the sparkle from the petrified wood, but I am sharing the photos anyway. The sun came out as we headed north to the Painted Desert which really helped with those pictures. We drove home down the Mogollon Rim in a rainstorm, but we made it home safe and sound.
Regards,
Karen
