One Planet Wecomes "Never Not Knitting"

We are so excited to announce the addition of a new collection of download patterns to our selection of patterns created by indie knitwear designers. The talented Alana Dakos is a hopelessly obsessed knitter, blogger and podcaster living in Sunny California. She lives with her very supportive husband and 3 year old daughter who constantly inspires her to design new little things. Most all of the Never Not Knitting designs are offered in a wide variety of sizes and are garments that are worked all in one piece with minimal finishing work. To see more designs visit Alana's knitting blog. Be sure to also check out the NeverNotKnitting podcast available on iTunes to hear about Alana's latest knitting adventures!

Here are a few of Alana's gorgeous patterns to whet your appetite. The first one is called Amelie and it features a fun, easy to memorize sock pattern that you’ll be sure to enjoy knitting. One of the awesome things about this pattern is that it has been written to accommodate three different methods of sock knitting. You can knit up your Amelie socks using double pointed needles, 2 circular needles, or one circular needle (magic loop).

Alana loves to design patterns for children and her adorable daughter is a perfect model. This pattern is called Sheepish and it makes a wonderful heirloom quality garment for either a boy or girl. The pattern offers simple sweater construction with just a little taste of intarsia work. It is worked in one piece from the bottom up with almost no seaming! Directions are provided for three sizes, from 6 months to 2 years.

This next pattern is called Very Cherry and although Alana designed it in a cotton yarn, it would be absolutely adorable knit up in bamboo or in one of our cashmere, silk/wool blend or alpaca yarns for fall/winter and worn by pairing the dress over leggings and a long sleeved top.

Last, but not least is Chloe. Chloe is super quick to knit and super fun to wear! This sweater is worked in one piece from the top down with no seaming required. It will only take you a weekend to whip one up and is a great project for using up worsted weight yarn scraps.

Be sure to check out all of the Never Not Knitting patterns at One Planet Yarn and Fiber. While you're shopping be sure to check out our summer sale. We have some incredible deals that won't last long!
