Cohansie Cardigan

New Sweater Kit - Cohansie in Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3 - Ply

The talented Melissa Wehrle has done it again and we have a new gorgeous sweater kit at One Planet Yarn and Fiber.

Cohansie is a modern cardigan with clean lines and simple construction. The body and sleeves are knit separately in one piece then joined seamlessly at the yoke for a 99.9% seamless knit. The sweater is designed using Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3 ply (65% Wool/35% Silk)and is available in several colours. The kit can be ordered in sizes XS-3x.

The Somerset Cardigan Kit

We have a GORGEOUS new sweater kit, the Somerset Cardigan, designed by Melissa Wehrle of Neoknits. Melissa is a very talented designer as many of you know and she is the Creative Director for One Planet Yarn and Fiber. This beautiful sweater is knit in Black Pearl Yarns cashmere in the Chai Tea color way. You can purchase the kit in any color of cashmere we carry or we can help you find an alternative yarn if you so desire. Although, there is nothing like cashmere!!



The Somerset Cardigan is a textured shawl collar cardigan reminiscent of days gone by without sacrificing a modern fit. A simple knit/purl texture stitch adds interest to the body and cap sleeves. The deep ribbed shawl collar is worked separately and attached to the body. Leather buttons add a final vintage touch, but for a more modern look try glass, metal or wood.

The knit kit includes 5 skeins of Black Pearl DK Cashmere, in Chai Tea for sizes XS, S and M (see below for finished bust and length measurements)and the pattern. The entire kit costs less then buying the pattern and yarn separately.

Announcing the Release of Colette!

Melissa Wehrle, our very own Creative Director here at One Planet Yarn and Fiber has done it again! Once again, we are pleased to announce the release of yet another gorgeous new sweater pattern designed by Melissa. Colette is a comfy, cozy cashmere deep V cardigan with 3/4 sleeves which is as easy to wear as it is to touch. Throw it on over a flowy dress or over your favorite tank and jeans. Dressy or casual, it will be sure to keep you fashionable and warm. Colette is an intermediate-advanced knitting pattern and uses a gorgeous lacy fern stitch pattern. It is shown here in Black Pearl 100% cashmere DK in Espresso. It is sized for women sized XS-3x and is available as a pattern download or as part of a knit kit.

Announcing the Daytrip Cardigan

We are absolutely thrilled to announce the release of our newest pattern, the Daytrip Cardigan, another fabulous design by our very own Creative Director, Melissa Wehrle. The Daytrip Cardigan is the go anywhere, do anything cardigan. Whether you're going to work or going on vacation, the Daytrip Cardigan has you covered. Details include a nice scoop neck, turn up cuffs and easy mesh stitch body. It is suitable for many body types. The Daytrip Cardigan is our very first pattern for our newest yarn, Lanas Puras Clarissa. Lanas Puras Clarissa is a DK weight yarn in a merino/cotton blend that is wonderful to knit with and comes in twelve luscious colors. It is shown here in the granite colorway.




Melissa is an extremely talented designer who also designed Georgia, the Sapphire Wrap, the Starla cardigan and the Sunshine Tank for One Planet Yarn and Fiber. The Sunshine Tank, New Items, Five Day Summer Sale

The wave stitch pattern in the chest area can be shortened or lengthened to fit any body type. The variegated yarn used to design the pattern adds even more interest to this simple design. Also new this week....... We have a wonderful new Indie yarn company all the way from Australia called Knitting by Zen. Knitting by Zen is owned by a truly "Zen" person who seems to practice the name of her business...... She is wonderful to work with, an honest and upfront person and a very talented fiber artist! She uses all local Australian wool. It really has a different feel to it. It is soft and squishy and simply luscious!! Check out the new yarns just listed by Knitting by Zen. Here is one sample skein called Rosewood, one of my favorites!!

We have a new shipment of gorgeous yarns from Sunshine yarns.. Did you know Sunshine Yarns is one of ETSY.com's top sellers? Not only is she an amazing fiber artist, but she is the sweetest woman to work with and she is also getting married this month! Congrats Dani!!
Look at one of her beautiful new semi-solid colorways..... This one is called Avacado and it is so pretty if you love greens!!



We are still listing our new shipment of spindles from Israel from Avi Wasserman. He really outdid himself on this shipment. There is one that has an inlay of turquoise and then this other one of our favorites has stained blue tulip wood. If you are a spindle collector, these spindles are just incredible.......
