UFO's and WIP's- March Madness

March Madness, what does that mean to you.  College hoops?  My team was knocked out on Sunday.  What do you do while your watching TV?  Why, knit or crochet, spin or weave, of course!  Below are the items I am currently working on.

Happy Stitching!

I'm making this hat for my daughter, but it needs to be taller.  I need to rip out the decreases and add in an inch or 2.

This is a new Karen Sadow cardi in the works.  I decided to restructure the back, but it is almost there.

First half of a pair of Sweet Tomato Heel socks.  Just need to bind off on this one.

Fair Isle and Intarsia beret that I started.  Waiting for more patience.

Precious Silk Scarf is almost done crocheting.

The next Karen Sadow Designs yarn waiting to become something.

I think this BFL has been on my wheel for several months.  Honest, there is hardly any fiber left to add to it!

I warped up my Rigid Heddle loom a few weeks ago.  You can see how far I have gotten.
The floor loom has a project on the back beam that needs to be threaded.  I just sold my motor home, so right now the loom is surrounded by boxes!

Sybil Mystery KAL Kits Now Available!

I'm off to Seattle on Sunday for Vogue Knitting Live.  Of course, the show doesn't start until April 5th, but I just couldn't resist having extra time up there.  Lots of plans!  The Sybil Mystery KAL is finished being edited and is ready to go on the 12th of April.    The Ravelry forum is here.  Kits are ready for ordering.

The kits include 1/2 skein of Handmaiden Sea Silk and are $44.95 for the Handmaiden Sea Silk Amber kit with gold beads and $34.95 in Handmaiden Sea Silk Smoke and hematite glass beads.  The kit will also include a beading needle and a vinyl carry case.  Priority shipping is also included in the price.

There are only 5 kits in each color available.  I have enough beads right now to ship out 3 gold kits and 2 silver kits.  The rest of the beads have been ordered and will be here when I get back.  They would ship out on the Tuesday before the 12th by priority mail.  Please email me if you would like a kit and tell me which color.  I will then send you a paypal invoice for it and ship it out once payment is received.  info@oneplanetyarnandfiber.com

Updated Hill and Dale Scarf Pattern

I finally, finally, was able to get my daughter to take some pictures for me for the Hill and Dale Scarf pattern.  This scarf has been finished for months, but without the photos and the graphic design I was really stymied.  I finally just put the pattern up for sale in the condition that it was in.  But now I can finally say it is totally formatted, and! I was able to make of video of the knitting technique I used in the pattern.  The video is at the end of this post.  It's my first online video tutorial!

This pattern is available on the website, Ravelry, Etsy and Craftsy.

Happy Stitching!

Rosemary Mitts by Karen Sadow

I started designing this pattern last winter after I went to the farmers market one chilly morning.  My hands were cold, but I needed my fingers free to be able to make my purchases.  I really needed a pair of fingerless mitts.  It took me a year to finally finish the pattern.  Welcome to Rosemary Mitts!

I had knitted one mitt and when I tried it on the thumb was too narrow.  I started making another mitt and stopped at the thumb gusset, but life got in the way.  I finally ripped it out and started over last fall and completed the pattern over the holidays.  Then my search started for a new graphic designer.  I have too credit designer Amy Herzog with getting me in touch with Julie Matthews.  Julie did a great job making me a new, simple pattern template.  I am just beginning to learn how to use it.

You can purchase the pattern on the website, Ravelry, Craftsy or Etsy.

These fingerless mitts are knit in the round using the magic loop method of knitting. You can use DPNs if you choose to.
