TNNA Authors

Along with Sample It! on January 20th, there was also a teacher meet and great.  Some fantastic teachers were on hand to ralk about doing workshops with shop owners.

First up, Antje Gillingham, who just came out with a new book called "Knitting Circles Around Mittens And More".

Antje Gillingham was born and raised in Germany, where she learned to knit as a young girl. In 1982 she relocated to the beautiful central coast of California and lived there for the next 17 years.

When her husband's job brought the family to Tennessee, Antje rediscovered her infatuation with knitting. She soon opened a knitter's haven called The Knitting Nest, a successful knitting shop in the heart of historic downtown Maryville, Tennessee.

Next is Beth Brown-Reisnel, whose patterns are available at OPYF.  What a pleasure to meet so many talented people!

Then there was Gwen Bortner, who I have taken a class with here in Phoenix already.  Sorry for the poor quality of the photo!
Next comes the Queen of Crochet!  Mary Black Temple.  We may be able to induce a few of these ladies into The Fiber Factory for some workshops!
And finally, Melissa Leapman.  Melissa is a wonder author and a great help to the knittiers of the world.  The Fiber Factory and I are trying to see if we can build a class around Melissa's book "Custom Knits".  It involves lots of duct tape.

Happy Learning!
Regards,
Karen
